Abstract

|
The introduction of pharimacoradiological principle has greatly facilitated the diagnosis of disaccharidase deficiency. The purpose of the present communication is to familialize clinicians with this new diagnostic approach and to report the results of our own experience with some 13 cases of various diseases involving gastrointestinal tracts. An especial stress has been placed on whether the small bowel series with lactose-barium can be used as routine screening procedure of the patients with "diarrhea of indeterminate nature" on an ambulatory base. The, results were qtute rewarding and has provided the basis for routine performance of this, particulars study in the patients with ill-defined diarrheal disorder of considerable duration.
